On August 04, 2014, the National Office of  Intellectual Property of Vietnam (NOIP) cooperated with WIPO, the Departments of Intellectual Property of Hanoi city, Da Nang province and Ho Chi Minh city, the Magazine for Intellectual Property, and the Innovation Magazine to organize the 2014 Patent Competition.

This is the second time the Patent Competition is held to encourage activities for innovation of widely used, easy and low cost technologies to satisfy current demand and contribute to the sustainable development of local community as well as the socio-economic development of the country.

Different from the competition in 2013, the contest this year is organized nationally. Every Vietnamese resident who resides and works in the country and has technical solutions created or applied in the first time after December 31, 2008 but not attended the 2013 Patent Competition, is able to register for the competition.

The prizes of the competition include: 01 first prize of VND100 millions with a gold medal and a certificate of WIPO; 01 second prize of VND50 millions with a silver medal and a certificate of WIPO and 01 third prize of VND30 millions with a bronze medal and a certificate of WIPO; and 12 consolation prizes of VND10 millions each for the technical solutions in the final round. In addition, the organizer also glorifies “Innovation Companies”.

The time for registration is from July 30, 2014 to September 30, 2014. The final round and the award ceremony are at the end of November 2014.
